NAWRA 2000 Conference

While at London Borough of Newham Social Regeneration Unit (which sadly closed in about 2005), I organised the summer conference of the National Association of Welfare Rights Advisers (NAWRA) on 9 June 2000. Over 100 people attended. It focused on use of ICT in welfare rights in several areas:

  • how to share factsheets etc electronically so as to avoid the massive duplication of a hundred councils all producing their own versions of ‘how to claim xyz benefit’ (with varying degrees of quality and out-datedness)
  • best practice in using databases for benefits take-up – see my “Claimed It” page
